A hidden gem among the many Latin American establishments in the area. The sopa de res is a big bowl of comfort. Pupusas are bomb too. Small but cozy place, easily accessible with street parking.

Really nice place! Nice people. Loved my pollo en crema and dug my tongue something. I'm not that familiar with Guatemalan food but I could still tell the flavors were great. I love Salvadoran food and this was similar to that. Yaaaa

The food is amazing but the service is quite fast. I went there recently and the tables were all good but in a matter of minutes the whole restaurant was full. I left and went elsewhere.

If you want a lot of good food at a cheap price , this is the place to go. Food is always good. I always order the mixed tacos which Is steak. Cow tongue and chicken. Best tacos in town and really good. The only thing I don't like about this place is that it only takes cash and it's pretty much only to go. Tacos aré always great and platters are delicious

You can NOT get any BETTER food, at these reasonable prices ANYWHERE ! ! The food is absolutely authentic, the staff is attentive and you WILL NOT regret the experience. If you don not speak a little spanish, it could be a little difficult to order depending on who is working, but don't worry, someone will help you order.

I've only gotten take out from here so I can't speak to the service. I am only reviewing the food. I have had their pupusas, tostadas and carne adobada, all of which are excellent. The food is very fresh, and always seasoned well. They can be a little liberal with the salt once in a while but that is to be expected with Guatemalan food. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I recommend this place for anyone wishing to experience good quality latin food at great prices.

Guaterico Deli is really not a Deli -- it's a kick-ass, authentic, hole-in-the-wall Guatemalan food joint right smack in the middle of Trenton. The food is deliciously greasy, it's freshly made, and the flavor/salt balance is outstanding. You know this place is the real thing when you see all the locals pour in after a hard day's work and order in their native language, and everybody knows everybody there. My GF and I kept talking about this food for a while and raved about it to our friends. The menu is written on a dry-erase board, and it's all in Spanish. They do have a menu translated to English at the cash register, though. So far, we tried their Chorizo Tacos and Chicharron (pork cracklins-stuffed) Pupusas. Both choices were outstanding. Chorizo sausage was very flavorful, and the pupusas were outstanding as well. The side sauces are really tasty. We paid $12 for those the 3 Chorizo Tacos and 3 Chicharron Pupusas, so the prices are outstanding. And let me tell ya -- that's a LOT of food!! If you're concerned about the area, don't be. We went there at 7 PM, and it's a well-lit area, with a lot of food traffic. You don't want to wear flashy clothes, but if you dress real casual and don't flash expensive stuff, everything will be just fine. Just smile and great people -- everyone's pretty friendly.

This place is the definition of a "hidden gem." I read a review on HiddenTrenton.com and went in for lunch as soon as I could. It's a bit hard to see from the street. A plain black and white site hangs high above the door. The menu says they serve Guatemalan food and Mexican tacos. The have a selection of tacos, tostadas, and various entrees on the menu, plus weekly specials. Everything was made fresh and with great care. My husband and I shared the chorizo tacos and chicken tostadas, which each came with three per order. They don't serve guacamole, but you can buy a perfectly ripened avocado for $1.50 to scoop on each bite. The tostadas were piled high with seasoned chicken, a smear of black beans, cabbage, onion, cheese and lots of sour cream. The chorizo tacos might have been the best tacos I've ever had. The chorizo was so flavorful by itself, but the onions and fresh cilantro really put it over the top. Our two entrees plus an avocado and a soda came to $16. For the amount of delicious food you get, it's the best deal in town. We would have been OK sharing one for lunch. The word is out there though... we couldn't get a seat at lunch time. "i couldn't wait till I got back to my office to eat though, so we ate in the car!
